According to Thai News Agency, the song's remarkable run dethroned a record previously held by Mariah Carey, making Langley a prominent figure in both country and pop music. During an interview with Billboard, Langley expressed her excitement and disbelief at the achievement, revealing that she even reached out to fans via Instagram to help boost the song's download numbers during a crucial moment.

'Choosin' Texas' entered the Hot 100 chart in November 2025, eventually climbing to the top by February 2026. This achievement was calculated based on streaming, radio airplay, and sales across all music genres in the United States, and it became the longest-running number one song by a non-holiday track.

Langley shared that the song was written in just 45 minutes at a Writers' Retreat, marking her first collaboration with veteran country artist Miranda Lambert. Lambert recounted a humorous story about keeping a kangaroo as a pet, which inspired the creation of the song.
