Bangkok: Atthaphon Rerkpiboon, on his first day at the Ministry of Energy, called on all agencies to accelerate their efforts to reduce the burden of energy costs for the public. He emphasized his commitment to fully performing his duties during his tenure in office.
According to Thai News Agency, Energy Minister Atthapol Rerkpiboon held a meeting with senior executives of the Ministry of Energy, state enterprise executives, and other agencies under the Ministry of Energy. He expressed his determination to tackle the nation’s energy issues, with a particular focus on alleviating energy costs for citizens. This initiative aligns with the government’s priorities, and Atthapol pledged to devote his full effort and commitment to these goals during his tenure.
During the meeting, Atthapol received briefings from senior executives on each agency’s mission, issues, and projects that require expedited action. Key areas discussed included energy price management, promoting clean energy use in industrial and community sectors, participation in key international cooperation framework meetings, and preparing energy infrastructure to support the growth of electric vehicle and data center electricity consumption. Atthapol highlighted the importance of collaboration among executives from all agencies to achieve these critical missions swiftly and efficiently.
Furthermore, Atthapol emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of the government’s energy policy, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, which will be presented to Parliament next week. He assured that expediting the implementation of this plan is a priority. “I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to serve as Minister of Energy, a ministry that plays a crucial role in driving the economy and the well-being of our people. My first urgent task is to expedite various plans to reduce the burden of energy costs on the public. During my tenure in this position, I will work diligently to ensure rapid results and establish a solid and sustainable framework and plans,” he stated.
