Phanom dong rak: EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) officers in Surin province have successfully recovered an RPG (Anti-Explosive Ordnance Bomb) along with other explosive devices near the Krabal Liao Reservoir embankment in Phanom Dong Rak District. The recovery operation was initiated following reports from local villagers who discovered suspicious objects in the area.
According to Thai News Agency, upon receiving the report, a team of explosives disposal officers from Surin Province and Phanom Dong Rak Police Station conducted an inspection of the site. Their investigation uncovered several explosive remnants from past conflicts, including a PG2 rocket with an 82 mm warhead, RPG-2 rounds designed for destroying armored vehicles and fortifications, and an additional intact shell.
In a separate location approximately 500 meters away, officers found another intact anti-personnel landmine situated within a palm plantation near the reservoir. Authorities took immediate action to neutralize and destroy all the explosive devices, ensuring no property damage occurred. Officials confirmed that both the local residents and personnel involved in the operation are safe.
