Evacuation of Villagers from Nam Yun Due to Clashes

Ubon ratchathani: Villagers in Nam Yun, Ubon Ratchathani Province, have been evacuated to safe areas as tensions rise near their homes. These residents have been relocated to an evacuation center in Det Udom District, which has been prepared by the province. Although the gunfire has subsided, officials urge continued vigilance in case of further emergencies.

According to Thai News Agency, the conflict has caused significant damage in Nam Yuen District, the heart of the clash. Three homes were affected: two in Kut Chiang Mun Village and one in Ban Phon Thong Village. The violence resulted in one fatality due to an explosion, while three others sustained injuries from shrapnel. Following the incident, immediate evacuation measures were implemented for the safety of the residents.

The evacuation center in Det Udom District is currently functioning as a secure haven. The province’s preparation, which has been underway for more than two months, enabled a swift and organized response. Various agencies have collaborated to gather resident information and distribute food and essential supplies efficiently. The majority of evacuees are from the Nam Yuen District, escaping the clash zone to reach safety. Many villagers shared that upon hearing gunfire in the morning, they quickly gathered essentials and headed to the evacuation center with family members, hoping for a swift resolution to the conflict.

Although the cannon fire has ceased for now, vigilance remains crucial among officials and residents to ensure continued safety.
