There was also the firing of weapons into the community area at the Border Area Development Center, Kap Choeng District, Surin Province.

Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, acting as Prime Minister, has ordered the Ministry of Interior to order provincial governors and district chiefs in the Thai-Cambodian border provinces to comply with the operational plan to protect the rear areas.

‘Currently, the governors of Surin, Buriram, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani have evacuated people living along the border to safe areas according to the rear area protection operation plan. The Ministry of Interior has ordered the governors and district chiefs of Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, and other provinces on the Thai-Cambodian border to prepare for the evacuation of people according to the rear area operation plan to boost the morale of the people according to the rehearsed operation plan, with the safety of the people being the most important consideration.
