Ex-Boxer Apprehended in Rice Field After Snatch-and-Grab

Khewa yai: Police chased and apprehended a former boxer who had committed a snatch-and-grab robbery, fleeing into a rice field. He was eventually cornered and found to be carrying methamphetamine.

According to Thai News Agency, a former boxer snatched a valuable from an elderly woman before fleeing into a rice field. Police pursued and surrounded the area for nearly an hour before finally cornering him. A search of his hut revealed the victim's belongings, including cash and amulets.

Investigators from Khewa Yai Police Station had a tumultuous chase to apprehend a former local boxer after he snatched a valuable from an elderly woman and fled into a rice field. The former boxer resisted arrest, using his strength and boxing skills, forcing officers to spend over an hour chasing and surrounding the area before finally subduing him. They recovered the stolen cash, an amulet, and two methamphetamine pills.

During questioning, Mr. Eed, 39, a former boxer, admitted to using methamphetamine before committing the robbery. Police took him to search his hut, where they found the victim's belongings hidden: three bags containing 2,900 baht in cash, four amulets, and important documents.

Initially, police charged the suspect with three offenses: robbery, possession of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) without permission, and drug use. He was then taken for questioning to proceed with legal action.
