Before committing the robbery of cash at Phatthanakan, it was found that Mr. Ball had committed a robbery of gold in Khammouane Province, Lao PDR, valued at 3 baht on July 1st, and crossed the border into Thailand. Then on July 2nd, Mr. Ball contacted Mr. Jack to plan and rob the property at a shopping mall on Phatthanakan Road and escaped through a natural channel back to Lao PDR. Currently, Thai police are coordinating with Lao police in the matter of extraditing the criminal across the border. Jack was arrested on July 6th. He stated that he knew Ball when they studied mechanics in 2007. Jack was Ball's senior and that he and Ball planned to commit the robbery on July 2nd. He was the one who opened the hotel in Nawamin ar ea to meet and plan the crime with Ball. On the day of the incident, Jack rode his motorcycle to the scene just 2 minutes before Ball. The original plan they had discussed was to rob him along the way, but he did not think that Ball would double-cross him and commit the crime in the parking lot of the shopping mall and steal the money. When the news came out, he did not dare to report it to the police because he was afraid that he would be linked to Ball's robbery. As for the withdrawal of money, Mr. Jack stated that he was an employee of a company that hired him to withdraw money and would receive a salary of 2,000 baht per withdrawal. Initial findings show that the company hired him to withdraw money using the names of three Thais for financial transactions. The three people were in Chiang Rai, Phang Nga, and Samut Prakan provinces. The investigators issued summonses for all three people to come and explain themselves on Sunday, July 7, but all three did not appear as summoned. The investigation authoritie s believe that the money was likely stolen from a mule account and are currently investigating the financial trail. Another suspect who is still at large is a foreigner who rode a motorcycle to help Mr. Ball escape. From the investigation, it was found that he got into a vehicle at Mo Chit Bus Terminal and escaped towards Chanthaburi Province. They are currently tracking him with surveillance cameras. After questioning Mr. Jack, the Prawet Police Station immediately took him to the court to request a detention order. Source: Thai News Agency
