Explosion Damages Solar Water Pumping Site in Yala, Police Launch Manhunt

Yala: Security forces and bomb disposal officers inspected a solar-powered water pumping station in Yala's Muang district on Friday following a midnight explosion that damaged facilities, local officials said.

According to Thai News Agency, the blast damaged more than 10 solar panels, while a nearby control box was burned using oil-soaked rags. Investigation teams found that perpetrators used an improvised explosive device weighing approximately 20 kilograms, packed inside a fire extinguisher with steel rods and detonated via a timer system.

Authorities have cordoned off the site to collect forensic evidence, including DNA and fingerprints, to track down the suspects.
