Bangkok: Extreme Thai athlete Wariraya 'ST' Sukasem is gearing up for a medal-winning performance at the upcoming 20th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, from September 19th to October 4th, 2026. The Thai national team is sending nine athletes to compete in skateboarding and BMX cycling, with Sukasem leading the team as a prominent skateboarder who previously competed in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris at the age of 12.

According to Thai News Agency, all athletes are currently undergoing rigorous training sessions at the Sports Authority of Thailand's extreme sports field in Hua Mak. The focus is on perfecting each trick while building the strength and endurance needed for outdoor competitions. Sukasem emphasized the importance of mastering the moves and executing them efficiently within a 45-second timeframe.

This event marks Sukasem's second participation in the Asian Games, having finished 5th at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. She is determined to improve her performance, aiming for a top-three finish to secure a medal for Thailand. Sukasem shared her journey of overcoming fears and gaining confidence through her experiences at the 2024 Olympics and other competitions.

The Thai national extreme sports team roster for the 20th Asian Games includes athletes in various categories: Men's Street Skateboard features Kirin Phetkiree and Thawatchai Siang-eung; Women's Street Skateboard includes Wariraya Sukasem and Nattiyaporn Navakitwong; Men's Park Skateboard has Korawit Ketkaew and Brian Van Uppapong; Women's Park Skateboard includes Freya Sriyya Brown; and Men's BMX Park features Saitharn Phetnum and Rungruang Phami.
