F-16s Conduct Strikes on Cambodian Artillery After Attack on Anupong Base

Bangkok: F-16 fighter jets have been deployed to strike Cambodian artillery targets following an attack on the Anupong base, which resulted in the death of one soldier and injuries to two others.

According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Army confirmed that the operation was initiated as a response to Cambodian artillery fire aimed at the Anupong base. At approximately 7:10 a.m. on December 8th, Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Winthai Suvari announced that aircraft were used to target Cambodian support weapons positioned in the Chong An Ma area.

The Thai military’s decision to deploy F-16s comes after artillery and bombers had been directed at Thai forces, leading to the casualties. The Air Force has confirmed that F-16 aircraft have been mobilized to deliver ground support, focusing on neutralizing the artillery threats from the Cambodian side. The operation is reportedly ongoing as efforts continue to secure the area and prevent further casualties.
