Fans Surprise Politician with Early Birthday Celebration at Lamphun Market

Lamphun: Fans surprised "Teng" with a birthday cake before he chose his lucky lottery numbers. Natthapong visited a market in Lamphun to gauge public support. Fans surprised him with a cake and sang Happy Birthday, but he was met with a reaction to the fact that the celebration was taking place months in advance. Meanwhile, the candidate tried to cover up by celebrating the "new mayor" before choosing lucky numbers to try his luck with the 30 million baht lottery. He also showed off his app for a chance to win a second prize in a Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization project.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party and prime ministerial candidate, visited the Lamphun Chatuchak market to meet with vendors and campaign for the People's Party's parliamentary candidates in Lamphun. During the visit, a resident of Chiang Mai presented him with a two-tiered vanilla cake, blue on top and orange on the bottom, with the message "Believe in the people, we are serious," and a picture of Mr. Nattapong and the number 46 attached.

The person who brought the cake stated that they were a fan from Chiang Mai who had followed him since the Future Forward Party. The fan group sang Happy Birthday to Mr. Nattapong, to which he replied, "Thank you very much, even though it's several months in advance." A parliamentary candidate then joked, "They're celebrating the new Prime Minister," which made Mr. Nattapong laugh. Afterward, the cake was cut and shared with the party's supporters.

Mr. Nattapong then walked to a lottery stall and bought two sets of five tickets each, with a prize value of 30 million baht. The first ticket was number 130246, and the second was number 776501. Mr. Nattapong had registered through the Pay Lamphun application to accumulate points for redeeming rewards or discounts at various participating stores, a project of the Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization.

Later, Mr. Nattapong gave an interview stating that he wanted Lamphun to be a model for the People's Party because Lamphun has been an example for people across the country, with the highest voter turnout for over 10 consecutive terms. The People's Party therefore hopes to plant its orange flag both horizontally and vertically. Having already won the Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization election, they are now hoping for success in the national elections. They currently lack two constituency MPs, and today they are determined to communicate with the people of Lamphun. What they need is as many constituency MPs as possible to create real change for the people.

Regarding whether securing the Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) seats will make winning the election easier, Mr. Nattapong stated that it allows for tangible achievements. He mentioned a recent visit to a lottery stall where Lamphun residents can participate in the Pay Lamphun project, allowing them to convert lottery slips into tokens for prizes or discounts. He explained that if the People's Party government comes into power and implements a lottery receipt project, Lamphun province will benefit further by encouraging spending and token accumulation. He also mentioned other projects, such as the previous parliamentary session's push for the Longan Act, and the PAO's development of sub-district health promotion hospitals, including school transportation to cover all areas and a curriculum on wildfire fighting. He expressed confidence that having the Lamphun PAO in power will demonstrate to the public that, despite limited budget, they can achieve tangible results and improve quality of li fe.

When asked if he felt pressured if they didn't win the election, Mr. Nattapong said he felt more confident than anything. He explained that he had spoken with the candidates and they were over 100% confident. Their goal is to secure another victory in Constituency 2, and they are confident in the remaining constituencies they haven't won yet. They have visited every constituency and are never complacent. They believe that no single candidate owns the people, and their duty is to present the best policies and the best candidate to everyone.
