A man was shot and killed inside his car near the Sri Ratch Expressway toll plaza on the inbound side, past the Prachachuen toll plaza, in Wong Sawang Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok, in the early hours of this morning. The driver of a white sedan, Mr. Anuwat, 34, died at the scene.
Latest update as of 3:30 PM: Pol. Lt. Gen. Nophasil Phoolsawat, Commander of the Police Headquarters (on secondment to the Metropolitan Police Bureau), along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiatikul Sonthinern, Commander of Police Division 2, have arrived at Prachachuen Police Station to follow up on the progress and expedite the resolution of this case.
Then, at 5:30 PM, police officers brought a man, a friend of the perpetrator, down from the interrogation room to reenact the incident. Police used a replica of the Vellfire car for the man to point out the locations inside the vehicle, including various items found inside. Prior to this, investigators had traced the vehicle and reviewed CCTV footage, finding that before the incident, the perpetrator’s car had driven out of a street in Nonthaburi province. They then reviewed CCTV footage in that street and traced the car to a house where the man was dropped off. They then contacted the suspect to come in for questioning.
Initially, the man stated that he had been drinking with Mr. A at a restaurant before Mr. A drove him home to Nonthaburi Province. He claimed Mr. A was intoxicated, while he himself insisted he was not. He came here today to demonstrate his innocence.
