Father’s Claims Under Scrutiny After 5-Month-Old’s Mysterious Death.

Bangkok: A tragic incident unfolded as a five-month-old baby was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a house located on Soi Chatuchak 20, Or Ngoen Subdistrict, Sai Mai District. The father of the child claims the baby fell from the bed, but the mother disputes this, highlighting a history of threats from her husband when he was intoxicated.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident was reported to Khan Na Yao Police Station on December 2. The child’s body was discovered with multiple bruises and bite marks on the buttocks and feet. The mother, aged 25, recounted an argument with her husband the previous evening, coinciding with her birthday. During the argument, which intensified after midnight, her husband allegedly tried to harm her and expelled her from the house without their son. She fled barefoot to report the incident to the police.

The mother stated that the police promised to send a patrol to their house in the morning. Although she stayed at a relative’s place overnight, the police stru
ggled to gain entry to the house the following day. At 10:30 a.m., relatives managed to contact the husband, who then revealed that the child was no longer breathing, attributing the cause to a fall from the bed. However, the mother questioned this explanation, given the low height of the bed and the alarming presence of bite marks.

The 30-year-old father claimed he found his son on the floor with blood around his mouth after hearing him cry during the night. He reportedly wiped the blood and gave his son milk, assuming the child had fallen back asleep. It was only at 10:00 a.m. that he realized his son was not breathing.

Despite the father’s account, police are conducting an investigation. The child’s body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Police General Hospital for a detailed examination to determine the exact cause of death.
