Korat: A fire broke out at a furniture factory in Cho Ho Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District. Sounds resembling explosions were heard intermittently. After several hours, although the flames had subsided, a large amount of smoke remained. Authorities planned to control the situation by continuously spraying water to prevent the fire from reigniting.
According to Thai News Agency, firefighters, along with several fire trucks, are battling a blaze inside the furniture factory. Traffic has been closed off in the surrounding area to ensure the safety of residents living near the scene. Inside the factory, thick smoke is billowing and there are large amounts of flammable materials. Additionally, explosion-like sounds are being heard intermittently.
The incident occurred before noon, and several hours have passed. Although the flames have subsided, there is still a large amount of smoke. Officials assess that controlling the fire may be difficult because the factory contains materials such as wood, sawdust, glue, and thinner, which can cause the fire to spread rapidly and potentially lead to a re-ignition or explosion at any time. The factory is a furniture manufacturing plant with over 100 employees, but because Sunday was a day off, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
Officials are continuously spraying water to monitor and control the situation, preventing the fire from spreading further. An investigation into the cause of the fire will be conducted after it is brought under control.
