Samut sakhon: A fire broke out at a large warehouse owned by a logistics company in Samut Sakhon Province. It took officials more than two hours to bring the blaze under control. The cost of the damage has not yet been estimated.
According to Thai News Agency, a fire broke out at a logistics company’s warehouse in Ban Ko Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province, around 3:30 PM. Officials deployed over 20 fire trucks to extinguish the blaze, which engulfed approximately 1 rai of land. The blaze engulfed nearly all of the warehouse’s equipment, while the roof structure and other parts collapsed at intervals. Officials had to keep unrelated personnel out of the area, fearing danger. It took approximately two hours to bring the blaze under control.
The company manager explained that the warehouse contained appliances such as electric appliances, fryers, fans, air conditioners, sofas, cabinets, beds, and batteries, all imported for sale. The warehouse has three floors, with the upper floor serving as worker quarters and the rest used for storing goods. About 10 employees arrived to work today, and all have escaped. He said he did not know the cause of the fire, but an employee said it originated in a construction camp below where workers were making repairs. The fire originated in that area and spread into the warehouse.
Police will summon the factory owner and employees for further questioning and will coordinate with forensic officers from Samut Sakhon to conduct a further investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. The estimated cost of the damage is yet to be determined.
