Fire Erupts at Foam Manufacturing Plant in Bang Phli, Employees Evacuated Safely

Bang phli: A fire broke out at a foam manufacturing plant in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan province. Employees fled in panic. It took firefighters over an hour and a half to bring the blaze under control. Initial reports indicate one person suffered burn injuries while responding to the blaze.

According to Thai News Agency, at 7:15 PM yesterday, Bang Kaeo Police Station received a report of a fire at a foam manufacturing plant on Bang Na-Trat Road, Kilometer 13, outbound lane, Bang Chalong Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.

At the scene, which was a single-story warehouse consisting of two interconnected buildings used for the production and storage of foam sheets, a fierce fire was raging, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Firefighters quickly deployed water to extinguish the flames, and it took over 1 hour and 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

After the fire was extinguished, an inspection revealed that the warehouse where the fire originated was almost completely destroyed, while adjacent warehouses suffered over 80% damage. Initially, one male employee was reported injured, suffering burns to his chest and left shoulder while attempting to extinguish the fire in the initial stages. Rescue workers rushed him to the hospital. The remaining 70+ employees escaped in time according to the emergency plan; no one was trapped inside.

Mr. Sakul, 40 years old, the factory manager, said that the fire occurred during normal working hours with 70-80 employees on duty. After the incident, everyone followed evacuation procedures and evacuated, counting everyone to ensure no one was trapped inside. Everyone is safe. The fire originated in the storage room, and the exact cause is still unknown.

Investigators from Bang Kaeo Police Station have cordoned off the area as a hazardous zone and coordinated with forensic officers to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Initially, they are gathering evidence from witnesses, CCTV footage, and the debris inside the warehouse. It is expected that the true cause of the fire will be determined later, after which legal proceedings will be initiated.
