Bangkok: A fire broke out in a community next to the Thonburi District Office. It took officials 50 minutes to bring the fire under control. Initial reports indicate that 8 houses were damaged.
According to Thai News Agency, at 06.49 a.m. (April 24, 2025), Bang Yi Ruea Police Station investigators received a report of a fire in a community near the Thonburi District Office, Soi Thet Thai 4, Thet Thai Road, Bang Yi Ruea Subdistrict, Thonburi District, Bangkok. They traveled to investigate and coordinated with fire engines from the Thonburi Fire Station and nearby areas to provide fire engines to support the scene.
At the scene, a large amount of smoke and flames were found. The nature of the incident was an old community with wooden houses built close together, making it a good fuel source. Firefighters rushed to connect the hoses to bring in and contain the intense fire. The work was difficult because the entrance was narrow. It took 50 minutes to bring the situation under control. Initial findings show that approximately 8 houses were damaged and a shelter was set up at Wat Welurachin.
