Five Laotian Nationals Rescued from Cave in Long Cheng

Long cheng: Success! Five Laotian nationals have been rescued from a cave in Long Cheng. Plans are underway to find the fate of two more who remain unknown.

According to Thai News Agency, at 3:10 PM on May 30th, Thai and Laotian rescue divers team "Mikko" successfully brought out four more Laotian people trapped in the cave safely. However, all were exhausted due to several days of starvation.

After the evening of May 29th, the first Laotian survivor successfully exited the cave after being trapped inside since May 19th. Rescue workers and medical teams rushed to provide first aid and wrapped him in foil to maintain his temperature.

Over the past several days, the rescue operation has been fraught with obstacles, including high water levels inside the cave, narrow passages, and in some sections, diving and crawling through mud for hundreds of meters. The victims were found in Chamber 4, deep inside the cave, where divers had to brave strong currents to rescue them face-to-face.

The next step is to plan the search for the remaining two people in the cave, as well as to find locations for pumping and draining water to facilitate the search, all while the relatives wait anxiously for good news.

Meanwhile, "Kengkaj Bongkawong" posted a picture on Facebook of a family of flood victims still waiting hopefully, with the caption: "Other families are rejoicing, but two other families with young children are still waiting hopefully for their father. Let's keep going."
