Nakhon Nayok:Several agencies are urgently addressing the flooding problem on Highway 305 near the Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) Ongkharak intersection. The prolonged flooding has resulted in stagnant and polluted water, adversely affecting homes along the road.
According to Thai News Agency, the flooding on Highway 305 (Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok) near the Srinakharinwirot University Ongkharak campus has caused significant hardship for residents with stagnant and foul-smelling water. In response, the Nakhon Nayok Highway District, Department of Highways, is collaborating with Mr. Kriengkrai Kittithanesworn, Member of Parliament for Nakhon Nayok Constituency 2, the Khlong Yai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, the Nakhon Nayok Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, community leaders, and local authorities to survey the affected areas and discuss urgent solutions.
The proposed solutions include the preparation by the Nakhon Nayok Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office to install water pumps opposite Srinakharinwirot University, Ongkharak campus, to rapidly drain water into the Rangsit Prayursak Canal. Additionally, the Nakhon Nayok Highway Department plans to establish a special counter-flow traffic lane in flooded areas to facilitate continued travel. Efforts are also being accelerated to open drainage channels along the highway to improve water drainage efficiency from community areas, thereby alleviating the suffering of residents, particularly those living along the road who have long faced issues with flooding and stagnant water.
