Pathum thani: A former aide at the Royal Irrigation Department in Pathum Thani has alleged that she was physically assaulted by her former department head's husband. The incident reportedly occurred after threats were made, warning her against applying for jobs on different projects in the area and prohibiting her from residing in government housing.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploypailin, 24, and her boyfriend Mr. Prachaya, 26, reported being attacked by a large man outside their residence within a government building. The man allegedly attempted to intimidate them with a firearm to deter them from applying for positions at the Rangsit South Irrigation Project in the Prachatipat Subdistrict, Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. A verbal confrontation unfolded, and it was later identified that the man was Mr. Phuechmongkol, the husband of Ms. Patchara, Head of the Irrigation Project Division at the Pathum Thani Irrigation Office 11.
Ms. Ploypailin explained her previous employment at the Pathum Thani Irrigation Project under Ms. Patchara's supervision. She was reassigned to an administrative role due to alleged disrespect, coupled with ongoing harassment, which led to her resignation. Currently staying with her boyfriend, a civil servant at the Rangsit South Irrigation Project, Ms. Ploypailin claims that Ms. Patchara warned her against seeking employment at the project or residing in her boyfriend's housing, threatening serious repercussions.
On June 18th, Ms. Ploypailin applied for a position at the Rangsit South Irrigation Project, prompting a phone call from Mr. Phuechmongkol after being informed by one of Ms. Patchara's subordinates. Confirming her application, she later faced Mr. Phuechmongkol's aggressive approach outside their home.
Mr. Prachya recounted that following the incident, management summoned them for questioning, during which Ms. Patchara allegedly made false accusations against them. Feeling mistreated, they filed a police report at the Pratu Nam Chulalongkorn Police Station to seek legal recourse.
In the aftermath, Ms. Patchara communicated via LINE message to a senior figure, asserting her non-involvement and describing the event as a misunderstanding involving a sibling dispute. Four police officers were on the scene to manage the situation, which was reportedly resolved through mediation. Moreover, she denied instructing her husband to assault Ms. Ploypailin, mentioning the existence of dashcam footage as evidence. A police search found no firearms or illegal items, dispelling the firearm allegation.
