Bangkok: "Ae Patcharee," a former MCOT presenter, fled the fighting and is relieved to have returned to Thailand. She and her children have escaped the escalating conflict in the Middle East, marking a significant emotional return to her homeland. Ae, also known as Ms. Patcharee Raksawong, expressed immense relief after finally making it back to Thailand with her son and daughter.
According to Thai News Agency, Ae recounted the harrowing experience of living in Doha, Qatar, for about five years, during which she supported her husband and family while occasionally traveling back to Thailand for work. She described the initial days following the outbreak of fighting as intensely stressful, admitting that she cried every day. While her husband remains in Qatar on assignment, Ae decided to return to Thailand with her children as soon as possible.
Ae shared that on learning about a flight from Doha to Bangkok on March 11th, she seized the opportunity to buy tickets and return home. The closure of airspace had previously thwarted her attempts to leave Qatar. Now back in Thailand, Ae plans to stay until the situation stabilizes, with her children continuing their education through online classes.
Expressing gratitude, Ae lauded the Royal Thai Embassy and its staff for their unwavering support and efforts in assisting Thais abroad, ensuring their safe return amid the crisis.
