Bangkok: Four major gas stations are offering half a kilogram of mangosteen for every 500 baht spent on fuel. According to Thai News Agency, PTT Station, Bangchak, PT, and Susco have teamed up with the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, to launch a promotional campaign aimed at supporting mangosteen farmers in the southern provinces of Chumphon and Nakhon Si Thammarat. The initiative involves purchasing 300 tons of mangosteen from local farmer groups and distributing them as complimentary gifts for customers who purchase fuel.

The promotion is set to run from September 11th to September 13th, 2026, or until supplies last, covering over 800 fuel stations across six provinces in Bangkok and its surrounding areas. Customers will receive 500 grams of mangosteen for every 500 baht spent on fuel per bill during this period.

Mr. Witiyakorn Maneenet, Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, highlighted that the initiative will see the distribution of 300,000 kilograms of mangosteen at the participating gas stations. He further noted that the 2026 mangosteen production in southern Thailand is projected to reach 139,000 tons, marking a 75% increase from the previous year. The Department of Internal Trade aims to further aid farmers by expediting the distribution of mangosteen through department stores and additional promotional activities.
