Bangkok: The global energy sector is set to tackle a multitude of challenges at Gastech 2026, the world's largest conference and exhibition focusing on natural gas, LNG, low-carbon technologies, power systems, and AI in the energy sector. The International Energy Agency projects Southeast Asia to account for 25% of global energy demand growth by 2035, further intensifying the need for investment and infrastructure development. Gastech 2026, marking its 54th edition, will return to Thailand after 18 years, hosting over 50,000 participants from more than 150 countries, including ministers, policymakers, and industry leaders. The event aims to facilitate international cooperation and address energy market trends, investment, and emerging technologies.

The conference will focus on five key highlights over its four-day span. First, global energy ministers and CEOs will discuss critical challenges in volatile energy markets. Second, AixEnergy will lead discussions on energy demand in the era of AI and data centers, featuring over 100 industry leaders across 30 topics. The event will also host the first Electrification Forum, focusing on electricity systems to meet new demand and connect ASEAN networks. Additionally, the Global Energy Regulators Forum will tackle regulations, pricing, and investment in the electricity market. Lastly, Innovation in Action will provide updates on energy technologies ready for practical use.
