German Tourist Assaulted by LGBTQ Gang in Pattaya

Pattaya: Police are actively pursuing a gang of LGBTQ individuals who assaulted a German man, causing injuries, as this incident threatens Pattaya's reputation as a tourist destination.

According to Thai News Agency, the attack occurred on Pattaya beach, where a group of LGBTQ individuals was captured on video assaulting a 55-year-old German tourist. The video reveals the gang demanding the tourist hand over his bag. After managing to escape, one of the attackers warned bystanders against recording the incident before the group dispersed. In the aftermath, a mobile phone was discovered in a drain at the scene, which authorities have since recovered.

The victim reported that the previous evening, he had invited two LGBTQ individuals to his hotel room. During his stay, he took a shower, accompanied by one of the individuals, while the other remained outside. After escorting the individuals out, he realized that 35,000 baht and 1,200 euros were missing from his room. In an attempt to recover his belongings, he pursued the individuals to Pattaya beach, where he was subsequently attacked by a group of 5-6 friends of the LGBTQ individuals.

Reporters have been informed by police officers at Pattaya City Police Station that, following the German man's complaint, investigative officers have been deployed to the scene to track down the perpetrators. Authorities are reviewing LGBTQ records to identify those involved and have already pinpointed the group, proceeding swiftly with questioning and prosecution to mitigate the impact on Pattaya's tourism image.
