GH Bank Commemorates National Flag Day with Ceremony

Bangkok: GH Bank organized a flag-raising ceremony and singing of the Thai national anthem on National Flag Day 2025. Mr. Kamolpop Virapala, President of the Government Housing Bank (GHB), along with senior executives, bank staff, and employees, participated in this significant event on “Thai National Flag Day,” observed annually on September 28th. The ceremony commemorates the announcement made by His Majesty King Rama VI regarding the Flag Act Amendment Act B.E. 2460 (1917), which proclaimed the Tricolor Flag as the national flag of Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, the Tricolor Flag symbolizes Thailand’s identity and dignity, representing the shared spirit of the nation. It serves as a spiritual anchor for the country’s unity and a reminder of the sacrifices made by ancestors to preserve the land. By fostering love and unity, it instills pride in national identity, contributing to the development and stability of the Thai nation. The flag consists of three main colors: red, white, and blue, arranged in five stripes with the blue stripe being twice as large as the others. The colors hold specific meanings as defined by King Rama VI: red for the nation and people, white for religion, and blue for the monarchy.

On this occasion, a new Thai national flag was presented for use in the national flag salute at the Government Housing Bank, displayed at the flagpole in front of Building 1. At precisely 8:00 a.m., the Managing Director, along with senior executives, bank executives, and staff, saluted the national flag and sang the Thai national anthem. The ceremony was held at the Government Housing Bank fountain area, head office, on September 29, 2025.
