Bangkok: The Government Housing Bank (GHB) has extended its support by donating blankets to refugees at a shelter on the Thai-Cambodian border. This effort aligns with GHB’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, aimed at assisting those in temporary shelters affected by the border incident.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Kamolpop Veerabhala, Managing Director of GHB, announced the donation of 1,000 blankets and 300 towels to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS). These items are intended for distribution to people in temporary shelters and those suffering from cold weather conditions, as well as individuals under the care of the MSDHS nationwide. Mr. Kantapong Rangsisawang, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, accepted the donation on behalf of the ministry.
The initiative demonstrates GHB’s ongoing commitment to public assistance as part of its CSR efforts. This mission is complemented by GHB’s core objective of providing housing loans to the public, particularly for low- and middle-income groups, to help them achieve homeownership. This commitment has been part of GHB’s operations for over 72 years, encapsulated in its motto, “Making Homeownership a Reality for Thais.” The donation ceremony took place at the Department of Social Development and Welfare building, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, located on Krung Kasem Road in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai District of Bangkok.
