Government and Volunteers Unite to Aid Flood Victims in Phatthalung

Phatthalung: The government and volunteers have come together to deliver encouragement and support to flood victims in Phatthalung.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Interior, Tourism, and Transportation have partnered with entrepreneurs to extend support, including financial aid and relief supplies, to villagers affected by the flooding.

A relief distribution event was organized, bringing together various sectors under the cooperation of organizations such as the Mobile Sign Shop Kitchen, the Phatthalung Provincial Tourism and Sports Office, and the Southern Drugstore Entrepreneurs Association, along with network partners in Phatthalung. Mr. Suchin Wajakit, Deputy Governor and Acting Governor of Phatthalung Province, led the relief distribution ceremony at the Ban Tha Sampao Nuea Multipurpose Hall, Village No. 7, Chaiburi Subdistrict, Phatthalung Province. Key figures including Mr. Surat Charoenyothin, Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer, Ms. Narumon Kongthon, Provincial Transport Officer, and Ms. Saruda Inpraphan, District Chief of Mueang District, were present to engage with and support the affected residents.

The event saw active participation from multiple agencies. The mobile sign shop kitchen and its partners contributed 500 lunch boxes, while Physical Education Officers and Family from Srinakarin District provided an additional 50 lunch boxes. The Tourism and Sports Office of Phatthalung Province and the Phatthalung Provincial Transport Office donated 50 and 30 packs of drinking water, respectively. Contributions also included 50 sets of common household medicines from the Southern Drugstore Entrepreneurs Association and 30 sets from Phatthalung District.

The ceremony was marked by a spirit of cooperation, with the chairman expressing gratitude to all agencies for their collective efforts. It was emphasized that Phatthalung Province will continue to provide assistance to those in need until the situation stabilizes. This initiative is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the public, private, and civic sectors in ensuring disaster victims receive necessary and prompt support.
