Bangkok: The government continues to alleviate the cost of living for the public by driving forward the "Thai Helps Thai, Reduce the Burden, Reduce the Cost of Living" sales campaign. The results of six previous events have generated over 86 million baht in revenue, helping to reduce the cost of living by more than 15 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government, through the Department of Provincial Administration and the Department of Business Development, is continuing efforts to alleviate living costs through the "Thai Helps Thai" sales campaign. The sixth event, covering 878 districts nationwide, aims to provide access to quality products at affordable prices while stimulating the grassroots economy and generating community income.
The sixth event attracted over 140,000 participants, generating 13.24 million baht in revenue and reducing expenses by 2.17 million baht. Across all six events, public participation has resulted in over 86.56 million baht in revenue and a reduction in living costs by 15.02 million baht. Ms. Ploytalay stated that this success is due to the cooperation of all sectors in providing affordable quality products directly to the public, thereby stimulating spending and strengthening the grassroots economy.
Ms. Ploytalay further indicated that the government will continue to collaborate with all sectors to drive the "Thai Helps Thai: Reduce the Burden, Lower the Cost of Living" campaign as a key strategy to reduce living costs, stimulate the grassroots economy, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs. The campaign will run continuously until September 2026, and the public is encouraged to participate in these activities to support the community economy and alleviate the burden of living costs.
