Bangkok: The labor safety campaign has begun, with the government aiming to reduce accidents to 'zero'. The government is moving forward with building a sustainable safety culture to protect over 40 million Thai workers nationwide. The 38th National Safety Conference was held to elevate the quality of life for Thai workers to world-class standards.
According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Ministry of Labour prioritizes workplace safety and is committed to making all workplaces safe, hygienic, and conducive to the well-being of all workers. One important mechanism that has been continuously driven is the organization of the "National Occupational Safety and Health Conference," or THAILAND SAFE@WORK, which this year is being held for the 38th time from June 24-26, 2026, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. The main goal of this event is to raise awareness among employers, employees, and relevant stakeholders in both the public and private sectors about the importance of safety, occupational health, and the working environment. This aims to elevate the safety standards of over 40 million Thai workers nationwide, achieve zero work-related accidents, and raise Thailand's safety standards to an international level.
Captain Patradarasmi revealed that a key highlight of the event is the exclusive onsite academic seminar, offering in-depth knowledge over three full days. Attendees can exchange experiences with experts, engineers, doctors, and nurses from various workplaces. There will also be exhibitions and demonstrations of workplace safety from world-class experts and innovations, as well as proactive safety demonstrations involving simulations of real-world situations and problem-solving by specialized professionals.
The National Occupational Safety and Health Week has been held annually since 1986 and has seen a significant upgrade since 2016 when the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Promotion Institute (Public Organization), or OSHI, took over from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare. Under the new name "National Occupational Safety and Health Week," the event aims to promote up-to-date knowledge in response to changes in technology and current work practices.
