Bangkok: The government has announced an initiative allowing restaurants to join the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" program through food delivery platforms, starting June 15th. This program aims to enhance restaurant revenue and provide convenience for citizens by integrating food delivery services into the existing economic support scheme.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the government is extending the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" measure to include food delivery systems. This expansion is designed to increase sales channels for restaurants and beverage businesses, while also simplifying the use of benefits for citizens via delivery applications. The program will run from June 15 to September 30, 2026, allowing citizens to utilize their benefits between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Food and beverage businesses can start participating in the program through food delivery platforms starting June 10, 2026.
To facilitate participation, merchants are required to use the Thung Ngern (Money Bag) application. They must download or update the app to its latest version, then select the food delivery project banner, agree to the terms and conditions, and choose their preferred food delivery platform. Upon completing these steps, merchants can begin accepting orders through the delivery system. The platform will coordinate with riders to ensure the goods are picked up and delivered to consumers. Merchants can also track their payment history via the Thung Ngern application.
The government anticipates that by connecting the Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 project with food delivery platforms, market opportunities for small restaurants will expand. This initiative is expected to boost sales and revenue for entrepreneurs and provide the public with improved access to affordable food and services.
