Government Modifies Eastern Line Train Schedules Amid Flooding

Bangkok:The government has announced modifications to the schedules of eight train services on the Eastern Line to improve connectivity with public transportation systems.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that adjustments were necessary due to flooding on the Eastern railway line, which has affected several areas, including parts of inner Bangkok. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has responded by altering train schedules to facilitate the public's travel needs.

Effective September 29, 2026, the origin and destination for eight trains will shift from Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) Station to Ban Thap Chang Station. Morning services to Bangkok will include Train No. 372 from Prachinburi to Ban Thap Chang, and Trains Nos. 380, 384, and 388 from Chachoengsao to Ban Thap Chang. Evening departures from Bangkok will be handled by Train No. 371 to Prachinburi and Trains Nos. 379, 383, and 391 to Chachoengsao.

The government has directed the SRT to monitor flood conditions closely, assess track safety, and adjust schedules to ensure passenger convenience and safety. Travelers can check train routes and statuses online or contact the customer service center at 1690, available 24 hours a day, for further assistance.
