Bangkok: The Government Savings Bank (GSB) is providing financial aid to all wounded soldiers still receiving treatment, along with additional career opportunities for the families of the deceased and disabled, totaling 6.6 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wirachai Amornratkulsuwet, Senior Executive Vice President of the Government Savings Bank and Acting President of the Government Savings Bank, revealed that the bank is responding to the government and Ministry of Finance policies. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, has assigned state agencies and financial institutions to provide assistance to those who have sacrificed their lives protecting national sovereignty, as well as civilians in areas at risk from the unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border. These individuals have lost their lives, property, and some have become disabled. There are also 86 soldiers still receiving treatment for their injuries in hospitals.
As of August 4, 2025, the list of names
collected from eight hospitals includes Sapphasitthiprasong Camp Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani Province; Somdet Chao Phraya Mahakasat Suek Camp Hospital in Buriram Province; Suranaree Camp Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima Province; and Wirawatyothin Camp Hospital in Surin Province. To show support, the bank is providing financial assistance of 50,000 baht to each injured person still receiving treatment, totaling 4,300,000 baht.
In addition, the Bank provides employment opportunities to increase the income of the families of deceased/disabled persons, both military and civilian, through free vocational training and a start-up fund of 30,000 baht per person, totaling 1,050,000 baht.
Previously, the bank provided the first portion of its budget to support emergency relief efforts at temporary shelters in Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, Ubon Ratchathani, and Trat provinces. The funds will be used to provide essential items such as blankets, dried food, cooked food, and drinking water, totaling 1,314,800 baht. As of Augus
