Government to Launch “Savings Plus Bonds” via Paotang App on July 31

Bangkok: The government will commence the sale of "Savings Plus Bonds" through the Paotang app starting July 31, providing citizens with a new investment opportunity starting at just 100 baht and offering interest rates of up to 2.80%.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Ministry of Finance will launch the "Savings Plus Bonds" for the first time on July 31, 2026. This initiative is designed to enhance public access to savings and investment options. The bonds will be available in two terms: a 3-year bond with an annual yield of 1.80% and a 10-year bond with a yield of 2.80% per year. The bonds also offer additional benefits, such as monthly availability, competitive interest rates, and the option to trade on the secondary market, enhancing liquidity and fair pricing.

Ms. Rachada further elaborated that the bonds can be purchased through the SBM Wallet on the "Paotang" application, with a minimum investment of 100 baht starting July 31. Alternatively, investment can be made through the Bond Connect Platform with a minimum of 1,000 baht using securities trading accounts via commercial banks, participating securities firms, and the Streaming application, available from August 3-5.

The government encourages the public to invest in "Savings Plus Bonds" as a secure and accessible investment tool. These bonds offer suitable returns while promoting personal financial stability and contributing to the nation's economic growth and future.
