Government’s Initiative to Elevate Thai Workers’ Safety Standards

Bangkok: The government is committed to building a sustainable safety culture to protect over 40 million Thai workers nationwide. The government organized the 38th National Safety Day to elevate the quality of life for Thai workers to world-class standards.

According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the government, through the Ministry of Labour, prioritizes workplace safety. The aim is to ensure all workplaces are safe, hygienic, and conducive to the well-being of all workers. A significant step in this direction is the "National Occupational Safety and Health Conference" or THAILAND SAFE@WORK, which is being held for the 38th time from June 24-26, 2026, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.

The main objective of the event is to raise awareness among employers, employees, and stakeholders about the importance of safety, occupational health, and the working environment. The conference aims to elevate the safety standards of over 40 million Thai workers nationwide, targeting zero work-related accidents and aligning Thailand's safety standards with international levels.

Captain Patradarasmi highlighted that a key feature of the event is the exclusive onsite academic seminars, which provide in-depth knowledge over three full days. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with experts, engineers, doctors, and nurses. The event will also include exhibitions and demonstrations of workplace safety from experts and innovations, as well as proactive safety demonstrations involving simulations of real-world situations by specialized professionals.

The National Occupational Safety and Health Week has been an annual event since 1986, receiving significant upgrades since 2016 when the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Promotion Institute took over its organization. Under the new name "National Occupational Safety and Health Week," the event aims to disseminate knowledge that keeps pace with technological advancements and current work practices.
