Governor Chatchart Sittiphan Receives Election Result Certificate, Sets 100-Day Strategic Plan in Motion

Bangkok: Governor Chatchart Sittiphan has officially received his election result certificate from the Election Commission, marking the commencement of his term as the Governor of Bangkok. In a ceremony held at the Election Commission office on Chaeng Wattana Road, Acting Lieutenant Colonel Sampan Saengkhamlert, the Bangkok Election Director, presented Mr. Chatchart with the election notification letter (Form Ph.Th. 6/4). The event was characterized by a warm atmosphere, with Bangkok City Council members in attendance to greet and take photos with the newly certified governor.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchart expressed his gratitude to the Election Commission for their prompt certification of the election results and conveyed his eagerness to start addressing the city's pressing needs. He revealed a comprehensive 100-day strategic plan consisting of 261 projects aimed at improving infrastructure, boosting the economy, and enhancing transparency. Each project will have specific progress targets to ensure accountability and measurable outcomes.

Mr. Chatchart also addressed various allegations made during the campaign, including those related to sexual harassment within the organization and corruption issues involving treadmills, migrant workers, and waste management. He emphasized the importance of investigating these claims thoroughly.

Furthermore, Mr. Chatchart outlined urgent goals that require immediate attention, particularly issues that arose during his absence from office. These include alleviating public concerns about flooding and PM2.5 pollution. He reiterated his commitment to transparency and resolving flooding issues in critical areas like the On Nut tunnel and landfill.

In response to questions about transparency, Mr. Chatchart assured that the country is on the right path and emphasized that allegations of bribes in transfers and appointments were unfounded. He also addressed infrastructure challenges, particularly in the old city, involving electrical construction that might affect drainage systems. He called for detailed inspections of shophouses older than 45-50 years.

Regarding his relationship with Bangkok City Council members, Mr. Chatchart affirmed that it remains unchanged, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and cooperation. He announced a forthcoming meeting with Bangkok City Hall executives to discuss urgent policy planning, transparency, and unresolved issues from the election period, ensuring that all candidate policies will be considered in the overarching strategy.
