Bangkok: A gunman on a motorcycle fired over 10 shots at a group of teenagers under the Phra Pok Klao Bridge, injuring two individuals. The assailant shouted, “Do you want more” before fleeing the scene.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred late last night when officers from the Phra Rachawang Police Station responded to reports of a shooting under the bridge. Upon arrival, they discovered two male teenagers, both around 20 years old, suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim had a bullet wound in his right calf, while the other sustained an injury to his left knee. The officers promptly transported the injured teenager to a hospital for treatment. Bullet casings were found scattered on the ground, prompting officials to cordon off the area for forensic examination.
A witness, Mr. Toel, 22, recounted the events, stating that he had been relaxing with a group of 7-8 friends by the Chao Phraya River since 10:00 PM. Around midnight, a group of 6-7 teenagers on motorcycles arrived and opened fire, injuring two of Mr. Toel’s friends. The attackers then taunted the group before escaping across the bridge towards Thonburi.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation, including a review of CCTV footage, in an effort to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for the shooting.
