Harassment Incident on Koh Samui Resolved Without Racial Implications

Koh samui: The Deputy Minister of Interior confirmed that the harassment incident in Koh Samui has been resolved, emphasizing that it should not be viewed as a racial issue. Worasit revealed that the issue of foreigners harassing Thais on Koh Samui has been resolved. He stated it shouldn't be viewed as a racial problem but rather as a matter of individual behavior.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Worasit Liengprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, commented on the progress of the case involving Thai citizens being harassed by foreigners on Koh Samui, Surat Thani Province, stating that everything has been resolved. He emphasized that he doesn't want it to be viewed as an issue between foreigners and Thais, or a matter of ethnicity, but rather as a matter of individual behavior. The incident stemmed from inappropriate conduct by individuals using services, leading to a confrontation and escalation. However, after assigning the Governor of Surat Thani Province, the district officer, and the relevant police to handle the situation, everything was resolved and the matter did not escalate further.
