Heavy rain in Korat, flash floods flood the roads

Heavy rains hit Nakhon Ratchasima, causing flash floods to overflow onto main roads in Phimai District, while the amount of water in dams and reservoirs throughout the province can still hold a lot more water. Reporters reported that after heavy rain fell throughout the night, it resulted in flash floods flowing from Ban Nong Thon, Nikhom Subdistrict, Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, flowing into the Phimai-Chum Phuang Road at kilometer markers 7-8 in front of Phimai Samakkhi 1 School, Ban Rang Ka Yai, Rang Ka Yai Subdistrict, 30-50 centimeters high, 200 meters long, causing people traveling to suffer from the high volume of floodwater and the fast-flowing water, making it difficult for small vehicles to travel back and forth. Meanwhile, the road leading to Phimai Damrong Witthayakhom School, Ban Phuttha, Tambon Rang Ka Yai, was also flooded by flash floods on the road in front of the school. The cause of the flooding on the road surface was because the water was waiting to drain. It is estimat ed that it will take 3-4 hours for the situation to return to normal. As for the water situation in the large reservoirs of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, the total amount of water remaining in all 4 reservoirs is 36%, with Lam Takhong Reservoir remaining at 27.03%, Mun Bon Reservoir remaining at 44.30%, Lam Chae Reservoir remaining at 40.36%, and Lam Phra Phloeng Reservoir remaining at 44.20%, which can still accommodate a large amount of rainwater Source: Thai News Agency
