Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for Bangkok and Surrounding Regions

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in parts of the lower central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, the eastern region, and the upper southern region. Temperatures in the northeastern region are expected to drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius, accompanied by strong winds.

According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts that Thailand will continue to experience thunderstorms and heavy rain in specific areas over the next 24 hours. These areas include the lower central region, Bangkok and its surrounding areas, the eastern region, and the upper southern region. Meanwhile, temperatures in the northeastern region are expected to decrease by 1-3 degrees Celsius, with strong winds due to a high-pressure system or relatively strong cold air mass from China making its way over the region. This system is anticipated to extend to the lower northeastern region and the South China Sea today. Consequently, easterly and southeasterly winds will bring humidity to the eastern, central, including Bangkok and its vicinity, the upper southern region, and the lower northern region. Residents in these areas are advised to take measures for their health due to the changing weather conditions.

For maritime activities, the waves in the upper Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are moderate, with waves reaching 1-2 meters in height. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, wave heights exceed 2 meters. Boat operators in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas affected by thunderstorms.

Additionally, Tropical Storm “FUNG-WONG”, currently situated in the eastern part of Taiwan, is projected to move towards Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, today. This storm is not expected to impact Thailand. Travelers planning to visit the affected areas are advised to check weather conditions before their departure during this period.

The regional weather forecast for November 13, 2025, indicates varying weather patterns across the country. In Bangkok and surrounding areas, thunderstorms are expected in 40% of the area, with heavy rain in some parts. The northern region will experience cool mornings with thunderstorms in 30% of the area, particularly in provinces like Chiang Rai and Phitsanulok. The northeastern region will see cool mornings with a temperature drop and strong winds. The central and eastern regions are also expected to have thunderstorms in 40% of the area, with some areas experiencing heavy rain.
