Heavy Snowfall Disrupts Travel in Northwestern Japan

Tokyo: Heavy snowfall and strong winds have hit northwestern Japan's coast, leading to numerous flight cancellations and disrupting train services in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, as of this afternoon, All Nippon Airways has canceled 56 flights, affecting approximately 3,900 passengers. Japan Airlines has canceled 37 flights, impacting over 2,200 passengers. High-speed bullet train service between Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, and Akita Prefecture has been suspended.

The Japan Meteorological Agency reports heavy snowfall from tomorrow through Sunday in areas along the Sea of Japan coast and advises the public to avoid unnecessary travel.
