The incident took place in front of Dr. Winai’s clinic on the Nang Rong Bus Terminal Road, where he heroically performed CPR on a young motorcyclist, Mr. Wanjakri, who had been struck by a pickup truck.
According to Thai News Agency, the accident was captured on CCTV, showing the moment a motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck, causing the rider to lose control and fall to the ground. The motorcyclist, identified as 24-year-old Mr. Wanjakri, lay unconscious and without vital signs. Dr. Winai, who was attending to a patient inside his clinic, heard the crash and immediately rushed to the scene.
Dr. Winai assessed the situation and, finding no pulse, began performing CPR on Mr. Wanjakri. Using one hand to support the young man’s head and the other to administer chest compressions, Dr. Winai worked tirelessly until Mr. Wanjakri regained consciousness and resumed breathing. The injured motorcyclist was then transported to Nang Rong Hospital for further treatment.
The story, which quickly spread on social media, garnered widespread praise for Dr. Winai, who many have hailed as a “hero doctor.” The family of Mr. Wanjakri expressed their deep gratitude by visiting Dr. Winai at his clinic with a gift basket, thanking him for saving their son’s life. Mr. Wanjakri, reflecting on the incident, acknowledged that without Dr. Winai’s timely intervention, he might not have survived.
Ms. Tua, Mr. Wanjakri’s mother, personally thanked Dr. Winai, calling him the family’s hero. She emphasized the importance of immediate first aid, noting that it was crucial in preventing a tragic outcome. Ms. Tua shared that she had previously lost her husband and youngest daughter in an accident, making her gratitude for her son’s survival even more profound.
Dr. Winai, a specialist dentist and owner of Future Dental Clinic, expressed his relief at Mr. Wanjakri’s recovery.
