Heroic Rescue: Village Headman and Nurse Save 6-Year-Old from Drowning

Prachin buri: Praise is being showered upon the heroic individuals who saved a 6-year-old girl from drowning after a car plunged into a large pond.

According to Thai News Agency, two good Samaritans, including Mr. Thongphim, the village headman of Village No. 4 in Khu Lam Phan Subdistrict, and a professional nurse, Ms. Oraya, played crucial roles in the rescue operation.

Two brave individuals jumped into action when a sedan, carrying a 6-year-old girl and her father, began to sink. The rescue took approximately 4-5 minutes, during which time Mr. Thongphim utilized a knife to smash the car window, allowing both the child and her father to be extracted from the vehicle. The girl, who had been unconscious and without a pulse, was in dire need of immediate medical attention.

Ms. Oraya, the acting director of the Khu Lamphan Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital, performed CPR on the child, eventually reviving her pulse. Understanding the urgency of the situation, she coordinated with an ambulance while accompanying the girl in a rescue vehicle to the hospital. The child is now in stable condition, thanks to the swift actions of these dedicated individuals.

The efforts of Mr. Thongphim and Ms. Oraya have not gone unnoticed. Ms. Naphapat Anchansanitmon, President of the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization, publicly lauded their bravery and selflessness. Their quick thinking and decisive actions exemplified the true spirit of community and heroism.
