Mueang District: A husband attacked his wife with a knife after suspecting her of infidelity, resulting in serious injuries to her head and shoulders. The incident occurred along Asia Road in Singburi Province, where a good citizen intervened, helping to apprehend the husband and alert the police.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sak, aged 62, wielded a 5-inch knife and pursued his wife, Mrs. Chutamas, aged 50, on a motorcycle. The chase took place on a northbound route until Mrs. Chutamas fell off her motorcycle, leading to the attack that left her seriously injured. Rescue workers promptly arrived and transported her to a hospital for treatment.
Mr. Sak revealed that he had learned about his wife’s alleged infidelity despite their long-standing relationship and shared child. While Mrs. Chutamas was working in Singburi Province, Mr. Sak resided in Chainat Province and had frequently followed her to confirm his suspicions. He stated that he resorted to alcohol consumption prior to the incident due to his emotional distress.
The good citizen who intervened recounted witnessing the attack while driving by. He observed Mr. Sak chasing and attacking Mrs. Chutamas after she fell from her motorcycle. The citizen stopped to assist and prevent Mr. Sak from fleeing the scene.
Police have taken Mr. Sak into custody, charging him with attempted murder and carrying a knife in public. Mrs. Chutamas remains in the intensive care unit as she recovers from her injuries.
