Bangkok: Immigration police successfully apprehended two siblings, who were fugitives with Interpol's Red Notice, in a coordinated operation to dismantle a transnational criminal gang. The two brothers, key figures in a French organized crime group, were wanted on charges of criminal gang involvement and drug trafficking.
According to Thai News Agency, the authorities received intelligence about Mr. Abdul Rahim (a pseudonym), a 35-year-old French national, who had a pattern of frequently changing residences and was known for riding his motorcycle to entertainment venues at night. He would return in the morning and remain secluded during the day. Surveillance of his activities in Thailand and verification with French law enforcement revealed that Mr. Abdul Rahim was residing with another French national, Mr. Mustafa (pseudonym), aged 33. Both men were wanted by French authorities.
Mr. Abdul Rahim was also identified as an international fugitive under Interpol's Red Notice, wanted for charges including illegal drug importation and distribution, involvement in a transnational organized crime syndicate, money laundering, and conspiracy to conceal or transform assets obtained from drug trafficking. Authorities had been closely monitoring his actions.
On June 23, 2026, investigators received a tip-off confirming the two individuals' relocation to a luxury condominium in the Asoke area of central Bangkok. This information led to the revocation of their permits to stay in Thailand, as they were deemed prohibited individuals. A fully armed team of investigators then executed a raid, conducting separate searches on different floors where the siblings were residing. Both Mr. Abdul Rahim and Mr. Mustafa were apprehended without incident and taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
