Surabaya: An Indonesian passenger ship, the Virgo Transport 8, capsized in the Java Sea, resulting in six deaths and 129 missing. The incident unfolded as the vessel, which had departed from Surabaya in East Java province, encountered trouble during its journey, leading to the tragic sinking.

According to Thai News Agency, the Virgo Transport 8 was carrying 243 passengers and 30 crew members when it went down. Rescue efforts are underway, with nearly 300 personnel, including those from the navy, deploying helicopters and rescue boats to locate and save the missing individuals. So far, 108 people have been rescued from the waters. However, the cause of the accident remains undetermined at this time.
