The industry ministry on Wednesday launched its annual display exhibition, featuring the latest foldable and transparent displays harnessing cutting-edge technologies. The Korea Display Exhibition kicked off in Seoul for a three-day run, bringing together 157 companies from across the display industry, including sectors such as components and materials, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Under the slogan "Wake the Frame," this year's event features a miniature 1.03-inch display with 4K-level resolution, along with a foldable smartphone with a 6.7-inch panel that can be completely folded in both directions. The event also showcases a transparent display that can be applied to autonomous vehicles. The ministry added that 12 potential buyers from five countries will participate in the event, providing opportunities for local businesses to tap into overseas markets. "The government will continue to expand its support, including investment in research and development projects and foster ing the workforce, so that South Korean businesses can solidify their lead in OLED technology," Industry Policy Deputy Minister Lee Seung-ryeol said.
