Ingfah Waraha’s Viral Performance at NineEntertain Awards 2026 Sparks Demand for Traditional Thai Music

Bangkok: Ingfah Waraha, the first runner-up of Miss Grand International 2022, recently expressed her gratitude to Nine Entertainment for the opportunity to highlight her talent in singing traditional Thai folk songs at a monk ordination ceremony. She emphasized that her 1 million baht fee was justified, as she would be performing for four hours.

According to Thai News Agency, after Ingfah's captivating performance of "Duay Hua Jai" (With My Heart), a version of "Heart of Thainess," at the NineEntertain Awards 2026 Presented By THONBURI PANICH, she demonstrated her prowess in traditional Thai storytelling (Lhaeng). Her performance was interwoven with rap verses by renowned rapper Golf F. Hero and featured a Khon (traditional Thai masked dance) performance by a team from the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. The powerful show captivated the audience and went viral on social media, prompting Boss Nawatt Issarakraisil, CEO of Ingfah's record label, to announce her new performance fee for traditional Thai ordination ceremonies at 1 million baht for a 4-hour show.

Ingfah, reflecting on this experience, shared her thoughts with a smile, acknowledging the initial controversy over her performance fee of 500,000 baht. She explained that the viral performance had changed perceptions about the value of her work. Ingfah expressed her determination to make the traditional ceremony accessible to the younger generation and mentioned her willingness to negotiate her fee to ensure the tradition continues.
