Interior Minister Orders Swift Rehabilitation for Over 1.4 Million Flood Victims in Songkhla

Songkhla: The Interior Minister has directed the urgent rehabilitation of Songkhla and the provision of assistance to over 1.4 million disaster victims. Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Sakda Wichiensilp, emphasized the need for swift restoration of public utilities and infrastructure to help flood victims resume their daily lives promptly.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sakda conducted a conference call to assess the situation in Songkhla Province. He stressed the significance of expediting the restoration process in line with the Prime Minister’s “7 days home, 14 days clean” policy. This initiative aims to facilitate a speedy return to normalcy for those affected by the floods.

Songkhla Province has already disbursed compensation to over 320,000 households, amounting to more than 2.9 billion baht. On December 9th, the Cabinet plans to request an additional 14.05 billion baht to support the remaining affected families, ensuring comprehensive assistance for all disaster victims.
