According to Thai News Agency, the Minister of Interior has also reported promising developments in the investigation concerning corruption in local government, with progress being made ahead of the deadline set for tomorrow. The extent of involvement by government officials remains unclear, as the Minister has requested the NACC to provide further details. In the specific case of the "Kuan Kalong Subdistrict Administrative Organization Mayor," efforts by law enforcement to locate him continue.
Mr. Worasit Liengprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, provided an update on the investigation into the corruption seen in local government examinations. He confirmed notable advancements in identifying the behaviors and circumstances that led to the initial errors. However, when it comes to identifying those implicated, Mr. Worasit has deferred to the committee for elucidation. The police, in conjunction with the NACC, are meticulously reviewing the details, and Mr. Worasit has emphasized that the NACC should be the entity to release information regarding the number of perpetrators.
In relation to the Subdistrict Administrative Organization Chairman from Khuan Kalong, Satun Province, who is alleged to have fled the country, Mr. Worasit acknowledged that authorities have not yet been able to locate him. He noted that police efforts to contact the chairman have been unsuccessful. A complaint had been filed regarding a meeting about this issue, but the outcome diverged from what was anticipated. Currently, efforts to reach the individual have been unfruitful.
