Ishii Leads BG Pathum United to Victory in Debut Match Against Chonburi FC

Bangkok: Masatada Ishii took charge of BG Pathum United in his first match with a 2-1 victory over Chonburi FC in Thai League 1.

According to Thai News Agency, the match, part of the Thai League 1 football “BYD Lions League 1”, saw Chonburi FC host BG Pathum United. The game marked Ishii’s debut as the coach of BG Pathum United, following his tenure as the coach of the Thai national team.

During the match, Chonburi FC took the lead in the first half, with Jonathan Bolingi scoring from a penalty kick in the 29th minute. BG Pathum United equalized in the second half, with Tomoyuki Doi scoring from a tight-angle shot in the 53rd minute. Doi later secured the win for BG with a penalty kick following a handball incident in the 63rd minute, bringing the final score to 2-1. This victory places BG Pathum United in 5th position with 17 points after 10 matches, while Chonburi is in 12th place with 8 points.

In another match, True Bangkok United faced Uthai Thani FC at home. The game saw True Bangkok reduced to 10 men early on due to a foul by Muhsen Al Ghassani. Despite this, they took the lead in the 43rd minute with a goal from Seiya Kunori. Uthai Thani FC equalized in the second half, and Bruno Henrique scored again, giving Uthai Thani a 2-1 victory. True Bangkok remains in second place with 20 points, while Uthai Thani is in 14th place with 7 points.
